Giorgio Armani pays tribute to Milan and aviation with this latest collection, gathering inspiration from the 1930's Milanese masculine style and taking it to new highs. Modern Long coats lined with faux fur paired with jumpsuits, chunky rain boots and duffel bags along with aviator caps and goggles marched down the runway in a continuous flow.
The looks morphed into more modern bomber jackets and stripped suits, gloves and beautiful silk scarfs tied around the models necks. Straight legged pants, hemmed right above ankle length, paired with beautiful knitwear, leather jackets and even some more modern, sporty "loungewear".
Following came yet more modern and upscale versions of high end military like dress clothes, think of modernized versions of high rank officers attire. Leather pants and jackets along with long length trench coats, underlined with "graphic" silk shirts, faux fur jackets, leather gloves and boots, to elegant contemporary sweaters, knitted bomber jackets and puffer coats.
Then along came the color, with beautiful displays of burgundy, pink and purple in cashmere, knitwear and silk. Accompanied by long loose trousers, cargo pants and belts. Coats were also on display throughout this portion of the collection, in various modern cuts and silhouettes, predominantly in a loose, more relaxed fitting tailoring.
The show came to and end with a compelling splash of black and purple with golden and shimmery accents. Slimmer but still loose silhouettes and cuts that reflect the modern approach Armani is showcasing throughout the collection, with a mixture of textures and fabrics that balance the feminine and masculine elements to perfection in timeless pieces. Sequins, velvet and silk make powerful statement in this final segment of the collection bringing it to a safe landing.
