Oops, she did it again! | #NewMusicFriday

Britney did it again y’all! Taking us all by surprise, miss american dream shook the music industry yet again on may 28th around 10pm by re releasing her album: “Glory”; with the addition of the single: “Mood Ring”.  Now, the single has apparently been available for a while now for the asian market, a special “Platinum” edition for Japon to be specific (as you may know, they always but in a few more songs for them on the records), but for us here on the other hemisphere, only a few hard core fans had knowledge of it’s existence. For those of you whom, like me, were blindsided by this; here’s the background story.  Only a few days ago, Britney came up on instagram to thank the fans for making Glory go up to #1 on the iTunes charts again and as a special thank you, she released a updated cover art for the Glory album, an image in which we see Britney herself, tangled up in chains in a bikini, laying in the desert. Apparently this same fans had been sort of demanding “justice

The wait is over... | #NewMusicFriday

Chromatica; Lady Gaga’s 6th studio album is finally out!. Released today, may 29th at midnight, after a very long wait, and much anticipated come back from the early days Gaga, we finally got what we wanted, a full on electro - dance extravaganza, to dance our behinds off and rip our throats off while singing along. We have heard two of the main singles from the album so far: Stupid Love and Rain On Me; both super uplifting dance pop anthems, that have had us hooked and craving for more ever since they were released (or rather; leaked). Pretty sure many of you were waiting for the struck of midnight to be able to finally get your hands on this record and see what it has to offer. I must admit, it wasn’t love at first sight, for me personally, the songs kind of have to grow on you, listen to them a few times before you actually like them, which I guess you can say is a bit of a disappointment. Perhaps it was the fact that we have been waiting for so long for this side of Ga

Coming up on Netflix... │#NetflixWatch

There are a few series coming up to Netflix this month and I am really looking forward for them. Just by watching the trailers, this upcoming series look very promising and quite exiting. Four of them are new comers and the other one is a long awaited come back. Let’s start we the new ones, shall we. The first one, and possibly the one I’m most exited about, is called “White Lines”. Coming up this Friday, may 15th, this very suggestive tittle and artwork drew my attention in immediately. From creator and producer Alex Pina (you may remember him for Netflix original series “Money Heist”), this series looks like a joy ride. Judging from the    two minute trailer, the show looks action packed and most definitely very promising, as expected from Pina, who comes back to the platform after his huge success with “La Casa De Papel”, only this time with a series in the English language. Here’s Netflix’s description for the show and the trailer: Zoe Walker leaves her q

Hollywood │#NetflixWatch

Even though it was highly anticipated ever since it was announced to the public, I personally, was a little hesitant at first about “Hollywood”, even after finding out that it was from creator Ryan Murphy, who I am a fan of (I mean, who isn’t right). T his hesitations however, quickly faded away after about 13 minutes into the first episode. From the trailer I miss judged the series as a sex scene filled kind of show, and there’s a bit of it, sure, but then again; that’s Hollywood in real life isn’t it?. But I’m getting a little ahead of myself on the topic, which, I will get to later on. So yes, I was expecting the show to be the typical production that takes advantage of actors good looks, physiques and reputations, and this incredible cast has all those characteristics and so much more; and the show realty does take advantage of all the actor’s assets, but in the most exquisite and masterful way possible, as only Murphy can do. At this point I think we can call Ryan Mur

Dead to Me 2 │#NetflixWatch

When I first stumbled upon Dead to me, I never expected to like the show quite as much as I do now, if you haven’t seen the first season for some reason, make sure to do so asap and catch up, because season two is now available for streaming on Netflix and it is everything and more.  For those of you who are familiar with the show already and consider yourselves fans of it, you won’t let me lie, this second season is very emotional to say the least, filled with drama, tears (lots of them) and lots of triangles of situations, or better yet, a whole network of them that has spiraled out of control by now, making, I dare say, everyone’s expectations met and surpassed (at least it did mine).  Spoilers ahead, consider yourself warned. This season picks up were it left of at the end of season one, with Jen covering up for the unfortunate event of that night when Steve came up to her house asking for Judy. Jen is quite distraught and the memories from that night haunt her fre

Let’s talk about “Never have I ever”... │#NetflixWatch

*Disclaimer: Before I start let me just make it clear that this is in no way meant to discriminate or make anyone feel uncomfortable or disrespected.* Never have I ever is a new Netflix comedy - drama series that premiered on the platform on april 27th. Created by the well known Indian -American comedian Mindy Kaling, this new series offers the audience a fresh take on a typical adolescent drama with the slight twist being, it’s all from a indian - american teenagers point of view. With all the talk around Hollywood about inclusivity and diversity, this show comes as no surprise, as an effort to see more women in leading roles and specifically those who come from different cultural backgrounds, but it seems to me that by trying to do this, the creators only seem to resonate the cliché itself even deeper. Now, don’t get me wrong, the show is great, fairly entertaining and well produced, and it goes to prove that old cliches don’t die quick in Hollywood and how effective the
