Now, that’s what you call a comeback!. To be quite honest with you, I wasn’t expecting much from season 2 of The Politician, I didn’t know where it was heading from the ending of the previous season, which quite frankly I found to be be a bit dull, lacking and overall rushed. I thought season 1 could have been prolonged a little bit more, since there was honestly so much to go around, I mean the drama was everywhere and they could have elongated it; instead (to me) it was rushed very quickly into what was coming next and it left a sort of void for all those short lived scenes and stories of which I’m sure not only I wanted more of. Despite that the first season was a complete success and I alone watched it at least 5 times from start to finish. If you haven’t seen the first season yet, I won’t spoil it for you, but suffice it to say, you should go ahead and binge watch it now; it’s very entertaining and short. You won’t regret it, and then you’ll be up to speed here.
At the end of season one, we see the whole crew come back together (setting every personal conflict aside) and join forces to do what they do best; help Payton run a politician campaign, this time for state senate of the 27th district on New York. At this point we meet the new part of the cast, Payton’s new rivals. Long story shot they drag each other’s skeletons through the mud and back trying to get ahead in the polls and winning the ultimate price. I don’t want to spoil anything for anyone, so you should just go ahead and watch it, I promise this season is just as good as the first season if not more; actually it is better, the first episode alone is such a great comeback, action and drama filled, you will simply fin yourself going through the entire season really quickly. Just a little spoiler, prince charming does make a few quick comebacks in the most most charming ways and some of the other most beloved characters have developed into quite the personalities to say the least.
On a more serious note; other the very high quality entertainment and production value this show represents, it is fair to mention the great job they are doing by implementing a much needed political and cultural change dialogue amongst our generation and “Gen Z” about politics, climate change and many other important topics at hand in a light, entertaining and comprehensible way. Episode 3 was particularly my favorite this season; where we see Infinity’s lifestyle changes and some very on point ideas to implement on our daily lives to make an effort to reduce our impact on this world to a minimum, so keep an eye out for that one in particular.
So, head over to Netflix and start watching season 2 now if you haven’t already. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
