A troubled young adult (to say the least) goes through life and changes in his own very particular way. Josh, the main character, who is dealing with quite a lot, realizes that life is not quite so simple, in fact all but the oposite. Not only is he struggling with his identity and sexuality, he has to deal with a mentally ill mother, and a father that’s not such a fatherly figure. A very witty, relatable (somehow), humorous series. It has 4 seasons and quite honestly left me wanting more. The humor is quite unique, you will find yourself laughing out loud and relating to Josh’s struggles even if they are not even near yours.
- Kiss me first
Extremely underrated (in my opinion) this series is quite the ride. Sadly it went on only for one season, I was for sure expecting more. This trippy, futuristic series, goes around Leilas life, an outcast, antisocial, weirdo if you will. She lives a complicated life and her only escape is a virtual world, which envelopes her in every aspect of the word. She becomes literally absorbed by this virtual reality that has much more to offer than her real one, and in it she finds even much more; love. Visuals are stunning and the performances are amazing, the story is quite unique and very interesting, the characters development goes beyond expectations (on my account at least), I fully recommend you watch this series, is something quite different from what you are used to watching and I’m confident you might like it as much as I did
- Dark crystal
Fairly new to Netflix, this series took me by storm, the level of production and the photography in it is quite amazing, the story is quite intriguing, it follows several tribes that are governed by the dark crystal which is under custody of some energy consuming beings that took over it. Things start to go wrong and the fight begins, all to regain the crystal energy and control to restore peace in the land.
- Atypical
A typical indeed. This series follow Sam, a teenager with an autism spectrum that makes him stand out for his not being “normal”, atypical. Being a teenager is hard enough, now try being one with a slight difference that makes you stand out even more and not quite blend in, well this is atypical, the struggles of a young man trying to live his life as beat he can an be as “normal” as he can possibly be. Very funny, very witty and mature this is what you want to binge to on a weekend
- Special
What makes you special?
This semi biographical series, starts: Ryan, a young adult with cerebral palsy that struggles to life a full life with his condition and on top of that he is gay, so add that to the equation. It’s extremely comical, witty, and amazingly relatable, it’s truly a must watch.
