First look of the year!
Although this look was shot in 2017, it still plays with big resonance in the fashion archives, perhaps even more now. Like I said on the previous post, I'm still catching up on 2017, and I have so much content to post and share with you all. I have been otherwise occupied lately, but not to worry, new posts are coming soon, so stay tuned. In the mean time, let's talk about one of my favorite trends for this year, 2018: "Oversized"
As the tittle from this post says, Oversized is indeed the new black. We've been witnessing this trend for a while, but now more then ever this is making a bigger impact on the "day to day" fashion. Oversized garments are making their way to most wardrobes around the glove, a stylish and trendy option for the modern fashionistas. This retro look inspired by the classic approach from the 40's gentleman, yet brought to this era with simple yet notorious styling.
Styling plays a big part when it comes to this type of looks, While this outfit is rather simple, the styling is what makes it modern and "á la mode". The use of white sneakers, the rollup detail on the pants, and a combination of colors that make this outfit one to stand out. This also takes me to one other of my favorite trends, the combination of formal-wear with casual-wear. The addition of sporty, more contemporary details like the white sneakers, and roll up on the pants, make this a more youthful look, while still looking dapper and trendy. The simple black "backdrop" sets the mood for a demure look with the oversized blazer, that gives it that vintage appeal, along with the oversized pants.
