Sreen Actors Guild Awards 2014

Hello everyone!
So the SAG Awards took place this past weekend, for those of you who do not know what the SAG’s are here’s a little history. SAG stands for Screen Actors Guild Awards, it started in 1995. This honor is given by the SAG-AFTRA which is the association of journalist, actors, dancers and other media professionals which are chosen randomly every year to nominate and pick the winners for that year recognition. Enough history, if you guys want to find out more about the SAG’s history go to: www.sagawards.org
Now let’s get to what we are here for… Fashion!
So contrary from the golden globes I saw a lot of variety on the red carpet, from colors, to shapes, fabrics and styling. Although the simplicity that has been showing on previews red carpet events keeps on popping (thank God!)
For the sake of that simplicity I’ve narrowed it down to only a few looks (my favorite of course). note that I don’t talk about “the worst dressed”, I believe everyone has their own style and their own identity, therefore everyone is entitled to make their own choices… so what you´ll see next are my favorite picks, nothing more, nothing less…
Let’s start with the guys for a change…

Ok so as you know, and as I have previously said, there’s not much to talk about when it comes to guys, it’s always a classic suit and tie, or bow tie for that matter, but at least there are a few details to make those suits a little more than classic. Take a look at these guys. Bradley Cooper wearing a Gucci suit with black velvet lapels, bow tie and shiny charol shoes. The much loved star from breaking bad Aaron Paul, looking a little childish in his Green burberry suit (not sure what shade), with tip studded shoes, Golden Globe and SAG Award Winner Jared Leto wearing a very chic Dior Tuxedo with a white, shirt matching bow tie and charol shoes. And James Marsden wearing a deep blue Valentino tuxedo with black lapels and velvet matching bow tie and shoes. Now this is classic with a twist, they all took little risks that paid off.
Now on with the girls…

Top of the line

Lupita Nyong'o once again knocks it out of the park, this time in a mint colored, body hugging Gucci dress, once again a very simple dress, tis girl can do no wrong, she simply looks amazing, gorgeous!

50 shades of blue… blue was a big trend in the red carpet at the SAG’s from Oprah to the Breaking Bad star Anna Gunn, it showed up in many shades, textures and sizes.

Oprah Winfrey went for a classic Badgley Mischka one shouldered gown, Anna Gunn from the Breaking Bad series dressed in a Monique Lhuiller sequin embroidered gown, beautiful Amy Adams sports a asymmetric cut, one shoulder Antonio Berardi dress and Dallas Buyers Club actress Jennifer Garner wearing a marine blue Max Mara dress with a trendy silver belt.

Here come the bold ones…

Dark side of the force… funny lady Tina Fey (alongside her daughter) sported a gorgeous Oscar de la Renta Gown , also from the 30 Rock sitcom Katrina Bowden wearing a simple Badgley Mischka dress. Another funny lady who went to for the dark side was Big Bang Theory star Melissa Rauch, who wore a Rubin Singer strapless gown.

And finally the outsiders

The lovely Isla Fisher wore a simple champagne Oscar de la Renta dress, and funny lady Kaley Cuoco who wore a siren cut Vera Wang dress, looks like these two didn’t get the trends memo… still, they both looked pretty goog, outdated maybe, but good enough.

That’s it for the SAG’s guys, but guess what Grammys are coming!, time for a little fun! Can wait to see what music stars are going to wear… we’ll see…
